a time of giving

i love my family and friends

im glad this year i was able to give
and im really happy with everything i got
no i didnt get an ipod or new phone or anything expensive
what i got had thought in it and meant alot to me
i may not have a picture perfect life but i have the special moments that last a lifetime
with all the struggles and difficulties im glad i have certain people i can turn to.....even if sometimes they do let me down but hey we are all human and i do it too, but when i need them the most they are there
this year thinking about it was a really humbling year.
i sure am happy i met everyone i did....for they had a big impact in my life.

new experience

Today my mom had all of her students that she teaches english to come over to celebrate a christmas themed party. They are so grateful for everything and it is kind of sad to see them working so hard to survive in America and give up so much of home life that they had to come here and experience freedom. Some of them are not able to go to school and have to work full time weeks. Peter this boy from Poland had to give up soccer and college to be able to stay here and works as a carpenter and constuction worker with his dad. He knows spanish so we were exchanging the little espanol we knew haha. But then I thought about all my friends i have and a comfortable house i live in and even though i despise doing school work i see how much of a blessing it really is. I love all my friends for their great support in my spaz problems (especially with boys :] ) and i am truely greatful for them!!!
